A 'stay-at-home' story: When I was growing up, one of my mom's best friends was a women we called Crazy Andy (she sometimes referred to herself this way as well). The way she and my mom met illustrates why she was 'crazy'. My mom was taking me and my 2 sisters for a walk one morning, basically just to get out of the house. So she had loaded up the stroller and ended up wandering us further away from the house than usual. Walking down a block we'd never been down before, suddenly a woman comes tearing out of her front door. "Another mommy! You've got to come in!", this strange woman screams at my mother. Andy had 2 kids of her own at home, and apparently she was as starved for adult companionship as my mom was. So they are still friends to this day. Never underestimate the importance of talking to other grown ups.
