A List Will Do In a Pinch

1) I have a thief. Nothing like 2nd Edition d&d to make you remember why I always played fighters and thieves... But I am playing and getting out of the house, so: huzzah! Sunday was the first time since [livejournal.com profile] rethought's cook all my food dinner I'd interacted with adults other than Sara or checkout ladies at the store: good times!

2) Waking up, showering and busing downtown for savory steak pies is a good way to start your day.

3) So is my Patented Alton Brown's Patented French Toast.

4) I am nearly into some sort of work groove and the Bronzer Cookbook which I am laying for [livejournal.com profile] k8cre8 is coming along nicely again and at a fairly decent rate considering I squeeze the time in around Rona's naps or locking myself in my bedroom when Sara is home. I may end up wanting to come up with some interior illustrations because sometimes the whitespace it too much.

A 'stay-at-home' story:
When I was growing up, one of my mom's best friends was a women we called Crazy Andy (she sometimes referred to herself this way as well). The way she and my mom met illustrates why she was 'crazy'.
My mom was taking me and my 2 sisters for a walk one morning, basically just to get out of the house. So she had loaded up the stroller and ended up wandering us further away from the house than usual. Walking down a block we'd never been down before, suddenly a woman comes tearing out of her front door. "Another mommy! You've got to come in!", this strange woman screams at my mother. Andy had 2 kids of her own at home, and apparently she was as starved for adult companionship as my mom was. So they are still friends to this day. Never underestimate the importance of talking to other grown ups.

Yes, it's exactly like that. But now I've got sundays with a gaming group and mondays doing Aikido so I should be doing all right. We just need to find some friends for Rona...
