The other side...
I had lunch today with an acquaintance and a friend and it was odd. We got to talking about past history at our mutual college of attendance.
When I started hanging out at GU they lost a professor in the theater department because he was accused of un-professor like conduct and the university eventually asked him to leave over it. Now I knew quite a few people who were there and involved in varying degrees and of varying opinions but the one thing I was always sure of was that the professor was totally out of line. It was interesting today because this acquaintance predated the event of infamy (we'll call it Lear's Grope) and how upset she was still that anyone could have accused her mentor of such improper behavior. I just find it mostly amusing the lengths we'll go to propagate the myths we've built up for ourselves.
And I am a little nervous (upon retrospect) of someone who will intimate that a group of people making a claim of sexual misconduct against a person are most likely all pursuing a vendetta. I can understand how one person might might make such claims in an attempt to get back at a person, but as a group behavior I find it unlikely.
