Still Fighting Scurvy

Last night went well (or at least well enough that I was promoted to Orange belt) but took so much out of me I didn't manage to wake up at 5:30 or whatever god awful hour Mary had to get her cab for the airport. Travel plans are coming together. We've rented a car (which by this afternoon will be one way to West Sussex) and secured a hotel room near the airport. The company we had originally contacted to ship the cats screwed up miserably. Lady Haye couldn't be bothered to give us a quote for what we were asking for (which was shipping our cats from Aberdeen to Seattle) and instead gave us a quote for shipping them from London to Seattle which once corrected made an expensive solution (nearly £800) even more expensive (by another £800) getting any information from them was like pulling teeth anyway so I can't say I am sorry not to be doing business with them. Hopefully the next (nicer and quicker and more local) company will have a quote to us today or tomorrow. Tonight I head out to meet with the flickr friends in Aberdeen for the last time and then try and get some sleep before the Beat the Drum festival in Drumnadrochit. Gah: only 16 more days!

True! And, closer even than that in September, when I'm in Seattle. Of course, I'm unfortunately not going to make it to Spokane. I realized that, from last year, I was so tired from the conference, all I wanted to do was crash, and it didn't make sense for me to "crash" there, at a place I'd rather be active in and visiting.
