Hi Internets, How Are You?

I dropped the bomb at work today, Ted is happy for us and even let me know that if we return to Spokane (something not entirely out of the question) that there is a good chance they'd be able to find a place for me.
My aunt and uncle are in town until Saturday. Next weekend we are taking part in a garage sale, the weekend after that Brian and Jen (of Hedwig) will be visiting from Seattle. The first weekend in Aug. Sara and Rona will be visiting her step-mom.
Also I am now the owner of a Canon 350D (Rebel EOS) digital SLR. I really am going to try to sell myself over there as a photographer. Hope they are buying.

If they don't buy your photog cred, smack 'em upside... with the new Canon 350D!

You commented directly in Flikr that Rona has a "Visa that makes it clear she's not allowed to work." Not true, unless you've been specifically told that. The phrase "no recourse to public funds" means you cannot claim unemployment benefits or low-income housing. You can join NHS, however. And both you and Rona can legally work (except for where child labor laws apply). In fact, you can obtain and change jobs freely, while Sara cannot.

If your freelancing work is outside the UK, it would only be taxed if you voluntarily reported it. If it's inside the UK, the same rule applies. Plenty of people work for cash. The really dodgy ones collect the dole while they are at it.
