1) What is it about TheWife that made you realize that she was a person you wanted to be with for a long time?

2) What's the thing you've done so far in your life that you're most proud of?

1) A combination of things I guess. We'd been together for a little while and I'd say it was in part the strong sense of connection that we share. Whatever science tells us I will always believe that we have known each other for longer than I have been around this time. Another part is the our ability and skill to be partners and support each other. Plus she is quite sexy.

2) It depends on the day. Today I will say that I am most proud of how far I've come as a person. That I have faced my past (or most of it anyway) and accepted it for what it is and what has gone on before. I work every day to not be limited by my failures or the times where I was tragically and disastrously failed by others and/or myself. I proud of the fact that I can look back at all the decisions I've made and their consequences and accept them as part of me so I can look forward instead. Also I make very good stir fry.

3) That is a very good question. Even if I knew the answer I am pretty sure I wouldn't wreck the surprise. Mostly because I expect it is somewhere wonderful. Y'know, if we survive.

1. I will definitely be more of the breadwinner because currently I possess the most money making skills. Or the skills that come at the highest price. But I certainly will not be relegated to simply the role of "Guy Who Makes the Fat Cash." I will definitely be very involved in the actual parenting. In fact I'm pretty sure it will be my job to go to school to explain that all those songs the Smithling is singing in school are "part of our heritage thank you very much and maybe you should be a little more culturally tolerant, besides you make it sound like drinking and sleeping with pretty girls is a bad thing."

3. The beef is being marched through France to free small villages from the terror of unexploded WWII ordinances.

* It's a tie: Either the most perfect scene I had ever (Subtitles with Shawn Telford, Walter Warren and ?? - We managed to completely nail random event/actions (while 'fishing' with our partners in front) that all made sense and it was beautiful) or the my quiet scene I had with Brett when I came to GUTS on a whim one night my last semester at the U. It was quiet and simple and it was Brett and I as ourselves sort of and that scene has simply stuck with me.

* I believe that would be the one Jaymers (

slownewsday) bought for me when I was in San Louis for my birthday. Fresh caught crab (Snow, Dungeness and Rock) cooked up with potatoes, corn and sausage plus a carafe of wine. Although the birthday of 2001 ranks up there as well at the Swiss with the entire Seattle/Tacoma crew.

* To Portland with Sara the first summer I knew her (summer of 95). My van (The infamous Sapphire bus of Pure Love) broke down in Troutdale (the clutch cable had stretched and if the motor was running you couldn't put it into gear). Apparently there was this big swim meet and every hotel room in town was booked except the one which was $100 and was then already booked the next night. We limped to a mechanic the next day who told us nothing was wrong so we drove into town went to Powell's and it acted up all over again. We made it back to the Dalles got another hotel and then high tailed it back to Spo-Vegas the next day.

1) If there was one thing in your life you could do differently what would it be?

2) What single moment from your wedding stands out most?

3) Who, outside of your family, has been the strongest influence on you?

1) I would not have lost track of my friend Jessica when I moved from Cheney into Spokane. Everything else smacks of regret which I will not accept.

2) My wedding I mostly remember in brief flashes. I distinctly remember holding Sara's hands in mine in front of the altar. I can remember being amazed and touched at the number of people that came to celebrate with us. I remember not having socks that morning and that Jason Flaherty (one of the bridesmaids husbands finding me a razor at the church so I could finish the the horrible shave job I did.) I remember walking to the car from the reception in a cloud of bubbles. But the image that stands out most clearly is Sara's hands in mine as I looked down at them in front of her white dress.

3) Unfortunately outside of my family I think the biggest influence on my life was Evil Sarah&trade. It has certainly left its mark but eventually left me stronger as well, but since then I haven't really allowed anyone to have as much of a hold on me. I can however think of a million and one people who have made a positive impact over the years and I would much rather acknowledge them: my friend Phil in high school who first dragged me into theater, my friend Sonja with whom I (and a few others) tortured the conservative youth leaders of the dioceses and who also taught me to chug beer, Walter, Todd and Erroin who mentored me in GUTS, Ryan and Pete the coolest college roommates ever (brewing beer, stealing fire hydrants), Thom who got me my first real money making job by convincing his fiance that this guy he knew would be a good fit for her company and the 999,993 others I've known.

- Can you reasonably justify roleplaying as a worthwhile creative hobby?

- Name your favorite alternate universe/time travel episode of any of the Star Trek shows (except for Enterprise. Fuck Enterprise.).

- Who would play you in a movie version of your life?

- I suppose that "because satan told me too" won't suffice as justification. Table top gaming encourages many positive behaviors (especially when compared to other forms of gaming). RPGs encourage face to face interaction with real people (as opposed to these new fangled network games where you play with people in France and Japan). Face to face interaction allows for us to become socialized as human beings and to be able to relate to others. RPGs stimulate the imagination and force the players to take an active part in their entertainment. *whispers* drol si natas */whisper* Also it is so much more fun than tennis

- The one with the nazis. Nazis in sci-fi is just wacky. To be specific: oh, let's say those crazy hunter aliens on Voyager that wiped everybody's memory and then put them onto the holo deck in Nazi Germany with the Aliens taking the side of Nazis. Wouldn't you look at the outcome and pick the side of the victors? Silly aliens.
