I am still seriously peeved about the apartment we failed to get. The one the landlord called and told us was rented. The apartment that was re-listed on cragislist the same days it was "rented." It was everything we could have asked for in a place to live here: unique, hardwood floors, a three minute walk from downtown, affordable, very near to a park and had a very prolific shared garden. Add to that and I still have no real word on my chances for the Good Job™ and I am one easily irritated person. I can't figure out if this is all helpful because the last thing we need is to locked into a lease in this godforsaken wasteland or if I should be getting really pissed because I am going to be here for a while and would like to have Christmas in my own home. More than anything I just really want a time frame on when I can have all my stuff back out of storage.

Because I am a nosey parker posey, I totally looked up the on-line complaint process: http://www.hum.wa.gov/CQ/index.html
Cause I am a geek for process.

I do like the complex we're at now— we were on a six-month lease, and at the end of it the lease goes as a month-to-month thing. The company figures that if you're reliable enough to be good for six months, they don't have to lock you in thereafter. That's a good thing since there are a number of families in the complex and every so often, somebody has to move with little warning (and if we find a good house to rent, we'll do the same thing. Unfortunately, everyone in the area is trying to make up their mortgage so house rentals are WAY out of line.)
