Temper, Temper

A shouted quote from the other room (in nearly real-time), " I don't want to do anything. I just want to kick and hit and bite!" Plus other whinging.

What evs.

I see she's been infected by the same thing Z's got.

It's not schadenfreude when you're happy to find out other people have the same problems as you, right?

For Z, I think when he started spitting was really the point where I began to despair. A great example quote from him: "I know what a good choice is. But I want to make bad choices!" (School frames all behavioral issues into choices, so it was an attempt to draw on that vocabulary. A failed attempt.)

I'd go back to the spitting honestly, the raspberries were hella funnier than screaming insults etc. It's not schadenfreude at all though: that sense of relief that it is not just yours is what keeps me sane occasionally...

I think the behavior this week may have been brought on by the aikido seminar: i don't see as much of her during the week (because i work later than Sara, go to class twice a week etc.) and that on top of not seeing my all last weekend there is a lot of attention seeking behaviors. Also there are a couple of emotional bullies/manipulators that she is encountering at school and we may be seeing some spillover from that: good times!

Yeah, Z doesn't do raspberries, he accumulates as much spit as possible and then spits in our faces and Ada's face. He also bites, kicks, attacks, calls names, and last week, he tried to "kill Jorden" because he wanted to send him to Heaven and then fly up to catch him and bring him back. Yesterday he told my dad that he was ugly without his shirt and he looked like a hippo. Sigh...

It'll pass, right?

Yikes. I've read all of the comments here and I'm a little frightened. My last memory of Rona was the adorable child who charmed us into having one of our own. Do we have this look forward to?

Well, if Josh and Sara can get through it, and other cool people they trust, I suppose I can take solace in that. It means we will as well.

She is still pretty charming. The following day she wanted to "make signs and stay home with her sick daddy." But those twenty minutes or so once a month: Watch out!
