Some Things

!) Before I forget: [livejournal.com profile] kung_fu_monkey, [livejournal.com profile] dr_tectonic this was something I could see you interested in. Or not, your call.

@) Any crap manual labor job is made infinitely better when they give you a walkie talkie. I couldn't tell you why.

#) Incredibles: funny, [livejournal.com profile] dr_tectonic was right: much better at fabrics etc. Also wet hair looked pretty good. I hope that in the future Pixar might just try their hands at some straight science fiction (rather than "children's films.") I still mourn the possibility that Square Studios represented even if Final Fantasy sucked as a movie. It was absolutely gorgeous to watch.

$) The trailer for Cars is the one that gave me the reactoin that [livejournal.com profile] kung_fu_monkey had about another Pixar film. I wonder if this is part of the devil's deal they ahd to swing to get out from under Disney's thumb. This is what I will tell myself anyway.

$ also) The Episode III trailer made me feel better about it even if I am sure it still won't even remotely measure up to the potential of the franchise. But it seems that we get James Earl Jones back, and that's good. Right? And there is hot lava and maybe some epic capital ship combat (finally) maybe. Y'know, unless I was mislead by the trailer.

%) CSz show on Saturday so I get today off.

^) which means that today will be a just fine day to complete any or all of the following:
  • finish my book for review
  • start/finish review
  • finish up some CD art
  • punch a puppy

Thanks for the info on the controller ports. Usually when retro gaming, I'd rather actually purchase the old system and game now that I can get them for cheap (usually). I don't like playing the ROMs on the emulators because there is a different feel to it. It's not just the controller issue; there's a flavor that goes along with having the NES or whatever with the cartridge and playing with the original components that an emulator fails to, well, emulate. I dunno, maybe it's just nostalgia, but ROMS just feel icky and cheap.

And don't get me started on that save state bullshit. When I was playing those games, we didn't have a save anywhere option. You had to have the skillz to get through that level! Gr. Slackers, the lot of them.
