The Truffle Is, Like, Totally Undervalued

I Felt free enough to actually join the family on their annual apple picking pilgrimage to Greenbluff. I took my camera because what could be more photogenic that apple picking children (forgetting that we’d be there while the sun was directly overhead and with no cloud cover, that’d I’d be attempting to push a stroller down an orchard at the same time I was juggling my camera and attempting to keep a nine year old on task–still I managed to get a few shots and it felt good).

Rachel was one of the first people I met when I started high school and was my first regular GM running many a GURPS sci-fi adventure. If I learned anything at all from her it was “never forget to pay the extra cost so your phase shifting character doesn’t cause a nuclear detonation every time they materialize destroying all they hold dear.” Important life lesson stuff…

We met Michelle what seems like ages ago when our daughters went to school together. We recently were able to get together for a picnic dinner and a visit. It was a nice break especially since I was neck deep (or higher) in my final project for school: which is now done, which means I have time again for all sorts of things because I am completely finished. Until I decided to go back again. On the other hand ideally if I do go back it will be on better terms than “Oh god, let’s get this done with as quick as possible and hope there is a job at the end of this” (there was).

Tank is roller derby coach for the Lilac City Roller Girls. In addition to helping roller girls knock each other down he also enjoys frightening children and day spent attempting to rid the world of disease.

I’ve known Shawn for over twenty years now. That feels weird to say that so often now. Am I really that old? However old I am: this is the first portrait of the fourth year of the portrait project! (That I apparently didn’t press the publish button on originally.)
