I had the pleasure of providing a friend and local poet Sabrina Mauritz with some headshots this afternoon. I like poetry but I will admit I find it frightening and intimidating so I tend to make fun of it a lot: it’s only funny because I love it so! We’ve had a couple of discussion about how poetry is more than feewings and then I had to go and take this photo today. I love how cherry picking a moment in time I can spin any story I want. I could tell you that she is a sensitive artist who wears her feelings on her sleeves and reads Plath and that this represents to the core who she is. Or I could let you in on the fact that I caught her glancing down at her cat who was feeling unloved at the moment, which–today anyway–is much funnier.
