We are in Aberdeen now. It was quite the adventure but since we won't have DSL for another week or so it will have to wait. The quick version: kitty trouble (solved), nearly missed the train, lost luggage (found), home is perfect (although the electric shower is weird). [livejournal.com profile] secret_hippie starts classes on Friday (or maybe on Monday?). I am now sufficiently collected to start taking pictures again. Feel the wrath of my Flickr Pro Account (thanks to [livejournal.com profile] thedragonweaver. [livejournal.com profile] slownewsday and [livejournal.com profile] giantlaser are queen and king of the day for saving us in London (and making sure rona has more than 5 shirts and 3 pairs of pants trousers. [livejournal.com profile] rethought was a peach too for getting us started here in Aberdeen even if it did break my heart to hear that game night meant football (not that I don't like football, I just jumped to the conclusion that it meant I didn't have to try to hard to find someone to play Betrayal at House on the Hill (2/3 of which was/is in the lost then found luggage). Anyway, more to come soon.

We do miss you already. I hope the birthday wasn't too full of travelling frustrations and that at least there was some beer. Fingers crossed for quick DSL installation so we can talk again.

Is the phone number all ported yet? Can we call you? In 'cotland?

Electric Shower? Ok, I need an explanation on that one. Is it that the pump is electric?

OMGosh wow sounds like you had quite the adventure, and at least all that was lost was found, and you caught the almost missed train, it makes a good story, instead of a horror story that makes you cry and laugh when you tell it :D and i know you will find others out there that love to play your extremely awesome games :D Betrayal at house on the hill is only the freakin coolest game ever! WOOT glad you didn't lose that! and NO DSL! you must be dyin! Holy cow! I must see pics as soon as you are set up to post them! i am so happy you guys made it safely! we miss you tons! Actually, it's the water heater (at least, I'm pretty sure it's the heater). It's a little box that hangs on the wall in the showers over yonder. You turn it to the selected heat and WOOSH! hot water.

So the package of Rona's clothes have arrived?

We'll get the books and game stuff shipped shortly. With Jayme and I both out sick we just haven't gotten out of the house much.

Redelivered this morning in fact. (we were out yesterday during the first attempt.) Everything else is non mission critical so no worries. Thanks so much! I am corssing my fingers that we escape the black death ourselves - I have been inordinately tired the last couple of days so maybe that's as bad as it will get no?

Pretty much except this one you turn on and woosh you have water period. It took a day or two to figure out how to convince it to deliver consistently hot water and not a randomly sampling of scalding and freezing water...

The 509 number has been successfully ported but until we get DSL it is just a very expensive answering machine. Basically we have a special router to add to the home network that has it's own software for connecting back to Vonage and making the phone go (I am sure it is in some way tied to it's MAC address but I am only theorizing here). IT also comes with 4 ethernet ports so as to not be totally annoying as a piece of equipment.

Us too, this sort of thing is much more fun when you can share it with others. Hopefully this dry spell with the internets will be as short lived as possible...

The human body can only adjust to one hour of time zone shift per day. You have moved from GMT-8 to GMT, a difference of 8 hours. Therefore it took your bodies 8 days to adjust. You might stop being sleepy after only half that time, but your digestive and other cycles have not.

Today is Day 8 since your move, yes? I hope you're feeling better soon. :)
