So yesterday afternoon was indeed a second interview. Unfortunately it was with the bitch queen of hell. I honestly feel like she was trying to run me off from the job and I couldn't tell you why. From the moment I told her I saw no functional difference between Word and WordPerfect and that while I haven't used WorPerfect much I didn't see it as an obstacle to my job.
"Oh they are very different, WordPerfect has access to so much more," she exclaimed. She then went on to grill me about how I needed to commit to the position through tax season-July for this office-no matter what, "I need to know that if I hire you that you won't take a better job if it is offered to you." Um, yeah I promise to keep your crappy paying full time job with only four holidays a year even if I get a better offer from a real company, with a real job, real benefits and everything. Especially in one of the few "at will" employment states in the Union.
Now I would like to be the person who could just lie and say sure and continue looking anyway without blinking, but I can't do it. For one the guy I originally interviewed with was a great guy and very up front and honest with me. I don't want to have to lie to him. I am the guy who volunteered to be laid off because I was 80% sure I would be resigning in two months anyway. Plus I am not sure how long I could work there with out committing homicide if this woman is like that all the time.
At least yesterday I got to have fresh waffles.
