A Postive Update
4 November 2007 14:59(I know it's been a while.)
All sorts of good things are happening! The best news is we are 95% sure we have a place to live (2 bed, 1.75 bath with a dishwasher and a washer/dryer). It's close to Rona's school and downtown. And a straight shot down the road to Fred Meyer to boot. The job situation is resolving itself (I think). I'm pretty confident about it at this point but don't want to talk about it for fear of jinxing myself (the start date is just over two months in the future). Acid Tongue has brought in enough money to justify upgrading my lens, so I've now got a telephoto (75-300 mm, f.4-f5 for those who care) added to my arsenal which was one sale at the local camera shop. I've been able to make it to the library (although the Garth Nix audio books I checked out–read by Tim Curry–may be unlistenable, at least the first one it). But I tore through World War Z in nearly 24 hours, all the fun tension of zombies without any of too scary immediacy afforded to film making. The fact that it is an "oral history" probably helped a little too. Tickets back to Scotland are nearly booked and I am looking forward to getting to see everyone again. Well except for
slownewsday and
giantlaser since we'll be flying directly to Aberdeen this time: Boo, hiss! I am certain the the barely 10 days we'll have will be too short as it is. My only real complaint is that I haven't had much time/energy to do some "me photography." I am nearly over my cold and next week is looking a little more sedate (only two photo shoots (yay!) and
three "work" days total) so I am hoping to get some more stuff into flickr. In the mean time here is an oldie:
