Hiyea internets! So what's new? Hell if I know I am going a little crazy. I had a rought portfolio review right before christmas but a better, nicer, more productive one this past Monday. As of 21 January I am no longer an educator but I am a student again. Between the nice and rough reviews I decided I really needed to raise my photo game and like the US Gov the best thing to do when you are strapped for cash and not sure what do you spend money! I am enrolled in a photo theory class this quarter at SFCC which I think is just what I need: to further develop and hone my photographer's eye. (And get good constant feedback, I wanna be told I'm pretty!) Spring quarter I'll probably spring for a location lighting class to really nail down my use of light better. I am excited and positive thinking! I am also embarking a a photo a week project (this photo is for week 1) set up by a flickr friend from scotland, I am also excited for that too. Here is an excellent lighting resource. I found them when somebody linked a how-to build your own diffuser box (cardboard box, utility knife, tissue paper, a piece of posterboard, and the sun.) It's awesome stuff.

Strobist is awesome, I've got a couple of his pages bookmarked until I build stuff. And the two strobe starving student light kit is on my 2009 purchase list (so I can go more mobile).

I am so jealous. I love to go to school and everytime someone gets to, I go green around the eyes. Good for you, tho. My plan to improve my poetry includes Fishtrap next summer. Must...save...money...must...save...money.
