Had a good couple of days: got paid, have nearly wrapped up the semester teaching. Haven't slept so well but still functioning in the upper levels of coherency. Made it back to aikido (for the first time in nearly two months) which was nice, my personal training project outranks me now so that is training in and of itself but it was good to be back on the mat. Any spokane folks who'd like to try it out you are welcome to come join me (free of charge) on 3 February at 10:30am. It won't be so scary because you'll know someone!

Watched Star Wars with Rona today, or rather I tried, I crashed about an hour in and had to eventually crawl into my own bed. Her favorite part was when Princess Leia got to go back home to her planet, which leads to believe she may haved missed some plot points. She liked it well enough to watch again though: yay! And it made up for getting to hang out with her bud Stella and her parents (who are good times but had the flu so had to cancel). Tomorrow is Not D&D which should include Gloom and the LOTR board game, and maybe some BatHotH if people stick around long enough to squeeze it in (our sorceror is coming for a shortened amount of time since he has to grade midterm papers or something). Other than that I've got 15 shots to get for homework before Wednesday.

Also: dead bug . Just in case.

And now: to bed!

Of course Princess Leia going back to her home planet is her favorite part. She's identifying with the only prominent female character in the film. Wait 'til she gets a load of the Ewoks!

Don't worry, she will soon learn how to identify with the male characters, the converse of which many little boys never achieve.

Well, now. Dot found it very interesting to see Mama on the floor waving her appendages.

I think she missed out the part where Leias' planet was vaporized... Identifying with Leia is awesome, she's sharp tongued and a crack shot, the perfect role model in her family... And to be honest Leia was my hook for watching the movie, "It's got a princess!"

I think I may wait to show her Jedi until she can be properly disdainful of Ewoks. I won't raise child that thinks Jedi is the best film: blasphemy! On the other hand, we could drag out the two Ewok made for TV movies... Hmmmm, what to do? What to do?

my boyfriend is looking at me funny now
