Nope. Still Nothin'
31 August 2004 11:25The weird dreams continue though. Last night it had something to do with frogs. Or maybe just their legs, honestly I can't recall. I got very exciting and good news last night that my friend Brian will be a Washington (and Seattle Metro area) resident sometime in November. It unfortunately pushes back the date on his wedding again but I suppose I'll just have to learn to live with that. It also means that later this month I can share a meal with his lovely fiance when I am sent to do penancesome work for the Seattle office.
Pretty much every job I've had has come through nepotism. For whatever reason the banging down doors method really hasn't ever produced results. I'm not sure how this reflects on me but currently do not wish to dwell on this facet. What with all the people that have gone before us we (the Wife™) and I are ready to make the move to the coast (myself in full ironic fashion having just read
kitty_pitchfork's recent musings on the bad rap Milwaukee gets. It's much the same way I feel about Spokane in a way. I really like it here. Not just because mine and Sara's family is here but because I like downtown, Manito, and the Japanese Gardens. I like that Nelson is a short day trip away and the fact that I can get to wherever I am going in under 20 minutes. Never the less there are more and more things to be checked off in the 'Pro' column for the west side of the state. Most of them people.
I've said this before but I will put it out there again: if you know anyone who is hiring and can pay some sort of crazy west side living wage: let me know about it because I'll apply most likely. I'm not looking for any deeply important-to-me type job, just one that is going to allow me to spend time with my friends and family and even if it's not spectacularly fun it won't follow me home every evening and effectively consume me with it's misery. Plus for the person that helps me secure new employment: Fabulous prizes! Favors! Hookers! Craisins!
