Narrative Urges
4 January 2005 16:15So I've been all crazy with the stoopid winter holidays and such. Good times but I am glad they are over.
Christmas started around 4 PM on the 24th when we made the pilgrimage out to Cheney to spend time with Sara's Step-dad's Tim's family. We'd been un-invited from stuff for some years after our wedding because Sara and I are philistines and sent no thank you notes. They've been convinced to move on so we have too, even if it means one more stop at the holidays though. Afterwards both Sara, Rona and I were all too tired for anything else so we ditched Jesus and skipped church. Christmas day consisted of our house, my parents house; Sar's mom's house; then her Dad's house (although Christmas was had the day before because that's when it was convenient for everyone else--of course no one told us until Christmas eve. So we hung out and played games with Sara's brother who was in from Oklahoma); and once that was done we went back to Sara's Mom's house for christmas with the rest of that family. Needless to say a lot of wrapping was done last minute and our house was an un-mitigated dis-fucking-saster. But multiple chances to play Guillotine (it is now out of print: :( sadness); Captain Park's Imaginary Polar Expedition; and Unexploded Cow.
The week before christmas I did managed to hook up with
jeremyrichards and our friend Darren who was up from LA, both of which were a nice break from the pre-christmas insanity, even if I didn't see Darren until after christmas.
A picture update will be coming soon (unfortunately flickr has become so popular that uploading can be a lengthy project. Luckily I optimize everything before I start the process so it could be a lot worse I suppose.)
I certainly hope that the holidays treated you al well and it seems to have been so. I'll just take the credit now though since I obviously spent all that extra time with the good vibe sending that I could have spent posting about the good vibe sending right? Right.
