So Friday night I had trouble sleeping. I was still wound up from the show and the vague plot and characters I have roaming around my head for a campaign set in world where magical advancements replaced technological advancement kept replaying themselves over and over. So I sketched this half formed character out. And of course technology means trench warfare right?

Whether technology means trench warfare depends entirely on the nature of the technology...

Transportation magic (flight, teleport, magical gates, etc.) in particular has the potential to make battlefields totally irrelevant.

Yeah, I decided those artifacts were harder to make and thus not given to regualr infantry, but rather to elite special mission squads. Where I really get into trouble is the "If I can concieve of this spell then..." thought process by which I manage to give everyside far too much power for any campaign I was interested in.
