American Tourist arrives in approximately 18 hours. [livejournal.com profile] slownewsday, I will tie her up and have her call you once she gets here...

Locals: Any suggestions where we should go with her this weekend with all the rain that will still allow us to take advantage of the free admission to Historic Scotland sites? Or do we bite the bullet and get rained on? (Or just stay in?)

Also: Hahahahahaha.

I may not be local, but, I'd vote for historic sites. For me, rain is much less a pain than heat. In fact, the spring I was in Boston, I walked the freedom trail in rain that did, several times, qualify as a downpour. At its worse, I popped into a bookstore with a coffee shop, and found not only a nice coffee break and shelter, but the best purchase I made the entire trip- an exceptional pocket map of the city, complete with all the T-stops. At the Bunker Hill memorial, dripping, I met the only 2 other tourists I'd seen all day. They were also from Denver. We concluded that only people from Colorado would be standing in the rain and enjoying some site-seeing. It was a very good day.
