My folks are having a nice time despite not having seen very far in town so far (the day we went down to the beach and Foot Dee visibility was maybe 100 yards). Today we will visit the Maritime Museum and the Museum at Marischal College. If the weather improves we will try for old Aberdeen, the Cruikshank Botanical Gardens and St. Machar's Cathedral. Mostly I am saving my weather wishes for thursday for Edinburgh. I have a map to the pub that serves Früli and we'll take in the Dynamic Earth exhibit at the Science Center. Until then we'll huddle inside from the rain and venture out to dry and warm places. Also this week: drinks out somewhere? Suggestions/volunteers?

Dammit, we are in Edinburgh! Do you have a distillery recommendation for us to visit next week, the folks are quite keen but I don't have a clue...

Probably Glenfiddich is as good as any. Easy enough to get to, good (free) tour and not too challenging a dram at the end of the tour.
