Are we (the collective, cultural unit 'we') really airing nostalgia programming about the 1990s?

Sometimes I almsot begine to get nostalgic about high school. Then I remember how much I hated it.

I think I'm just nostalgic for atime when nostaligia actually meant something. And of course yesterday's breakfast. It was such a good breakfast, I am sure there will never be another like it.

Think how bad these new cameras are going to make it, now that we can instantly review the picture.

Oh, yes. Yes we are.

Or, at least, someone is.

At Beth's wedding, while people were coming into the church, she had a slide show of pictures of she and Jeremy. And, the music that played in the background was TV themes songs. Nostalgia was palpable. And, that was one of a few things people had to comment on.

It's weird to think that people are already nostalgic for the '90s. Maybe it's just that it was so much better then. Remember when you could start an internet company, and be a billion the next day? ah. The good old days...

Or, rather, a billionaire.

I wish I were a billionaire.

So this nostalgia is merely a residual effect of the burst of the .com bubble?

As long as babydoll dresses, leggings, and nasty mandarin collars for men don't come back...

But they will. I hoped that tight tapered jeans and hot pink high heels wouldn't come back either, but they did, in the last year of eighties fashion nostalgia. Truly, the hot pink heels I don't mind so much, but tapered pants? Grrrrrugh...

Nostalgia will eventually eat itself and we will start looking toward the future again, soon people will be remembering things that haven't happened yet and walking around in tin foil suits. But until then we can look forward to the masses happily admitting that they really _liked_ the New Kids...
