Spent some time today at the local ice arena and while little kids on skates for the very first time are pretty cute and awesome. I think nothing beats tiny pee wee hockey players sliding across the ice. It’s rule I am pretty sure I read it in some big important book of big important rules. It also fits right in with the actual drop in temperatures here to winter levels and the photo I should have taken yesterday morning but instead took today.

Hanging With Care
30 November 2009 20:10We constructed the tree yesterday but the day got away from us and we didn’t have the leisure time to decorate it (much to my daughter’s disappointment). This evening though we spent some time hanging all the ornaments (or rehanging them from the band of at that ended at the top of her reach) on the tree including the traditional Christmas Bat. Christmas is coming but it shouldn’t stress anyone out. I am looking forward to enjoying some of my families Christmas traditions and specials.

Today was a work day in just about every sense of the word. We cleaned house (took my daughter’s room apart and put it back together otherwise known as shot number two for today), fixed pieces of plumbing and I processed photos from a portrait session, cleared out at least 200 that I won’t keep from my Tryone Wells concert and put up the Christmnas tree. It was a long day but well worth it! Also in case anyone reading this is shopping for me for christmas: these look really cool and I’d love to get a lo-fi fisheye to shoot with!

Hopefully everyone had a safe and happy Thanksgiving (those of you that were celebrating it anyway). I put myself into a tryptophan induced coma quite early. The day after Thanksgiving is even more important in my family though because that’s the day we all gather at my parents house to make scalidis our traditional Christmas cookie. They are a highly prized treat amongst many of my friends and I’ll be sending a couple of packages out in the mail, and perhaps recipes to anyone else who would like to make a go of it on their own. I uploaded a couple more pictures today as well eventually I suppose I’ll manage to completely catch up.

A good day training means the gi goes right into the washer upon arrival home. I missed out on my belt test last Saturday but methinks that I’ll be having a make up test soon…

Still recovering from the Lurgy. Mostly back on track though, yesterday was a huge milestone at home though as my daughter lost her first tooth! I was so excited I used it as an excuse to take an extra photo towards getting caught up. I’m not going to lie, I am also pretty excited to take some pictures of the my family’s traditional baking this week…

Thoughtful
22 November 2009 17:46I’m back and have mostly beaten the dreaded lurgy into submission. The last two days are just a feverish haze but today I was back to normal (relatively anyway) with nothing to show for the last two days except a head full of gunk. Hopefully I few more days of judicious intake of vitamin C will send it packing. Thanks go out today to my friend Sally who still let me into her home to shoot her son Isaac.

I am not sure why I decided that dinner shots would be most of what I got this week. What is really true is that I am getting a lot of getting home or just before I go home shots. Dinner’s have simply been on the go…

Great Big Dudes
18 November 2009 00:25Today was a fantastic day: the day jobs was 8 hours of victory (and in social work that is a Big Thing), I had delicious lunch, good training, I got to deliver two new kitties to their new home, eat my wife’s delicious chili and cornbread and at the very end of the day see my all time favorite band in concert. I first saw Great Big Sea on my honey moon a little more than 11 years ago and thanks to the generosity of a friend I was able to enjoy them in person with my wife again. A day topped in awesome sauce indeed!

The Big Sleep
10 April 2007 18:02 Yesterday was long. Today was a day of rest meaning I did virtually nothing of any use to anyone (except make sure the Monkey™ did all right, she had to stay home from nursery today because of a fever poor thing). Getting pretty excited to have visitors (hopefully starting the weekend of the 20th when Ivy comes to town).
Also started a flickr group to collect other flickrites photos of the family so if you are dying to see my shaggy hair (no more haircuts for a while for me) or just more of Rona and Sara it's here.
